Back to Reality

June 7, 2012

We are back from our visit to Phoenix.  The temps in New Hampshire are half what they were in Arizona…and it has rained off and on.  I did get out for a short bike this afternoon, a beautiful sunny space in the clouds and rain…

I really enjoy Arizona, the weather is so nice…even though it is HOT…  Training is an early morning event.  But even at 6:30 AM it is still almost 80…which is too hot for me!  Did it anyway…not at home though.  I am an early morning runner, biker, don’t like the hot afternoon sun or temps.

All mornings breakfast was here on the patio

This is the view

The critters were abundant and hungry

Went for a drive to Prescott, north and west a bit.  Cooler and real trees and grass…Ate lunch at the Lone Spur Cafe a really cute place, burgers were awesome and they had THE BEST ONION RINGS ever!!!!

best onion rings…ever

Old plates from many states, thought “famous potatoes” was a funny by-line

Court house square, nice trees and grass

On the drive home I tried to snap some pics of the layers of hills, going 75 miles an hour…they are ok

layer upon layer of mountains

Beautiful mountains

Training:

Monday: Last swim in the pool at Sun City Grand, 1100 yards in 26 min

Tuesday:  Rest if you call two plane flights leaving at 6 AM and getting home at midnight…rest…

Wednesday: Very slow start to the day, looked like it was going to rain all morning, got groceries, and the sun came out.  Short 10 mile bike, tried to push my self.  45 min.

Rain again at dinner time…

Early to bed running in the morning.

Nite,

Grandma

Wow. What a gorgeous patio. Love the mountains. I have relative through NH/ME and spent many good times there.

It was lovely, hopefully we will get some warmer summer temps and be able to sit on our deck for breakfast…
