Alone at the Lake

July 17, 2012

Today dawned sunny and calm, not a ripple on the lake as I headed out for my run.  It is supposed to be 90 today, which sounds awful, but, the west wind came up at around 8:30 this morning.  Gusty wind, the lake is now choppy and full of white caps.  Sitting on the porch gives you that feeling of being on a motorcycle with no helmet and no windshield.  The slicked back look, it will hurt to comb the hair later.

The flag is out straight!

The kids are gone…we are alone at the family place.  It is an adjustment to have quiet in a place that is usually bustling with noise and people.  We will manage.

Pete, Rachel and Cora

Mark, Sarah and Sophia

We had a great time together.

Tomorrow is the big bike ride, going around 30 miles, at least that is the plan at the moment.  It will be an out and back, and we can turn back sooner if we need to.

While not training for a triathlon, I have a small business.  Bumblebee & Sophie, I make children’s clothing and quilts and bags, really anything sewn.  It all started when I made a quilt and other nursery items for Sophia.  I had a web site, but just discovered that since Mobile Me is closed it no longer works… not sure how to fix that one yet.  Sometimes computers are so frustrating.  The above link is to my blog.  Which is currently on Blogger, but am thinking about migrating to Word Press!  But that again is computer stuff…can’t get away from it!!!

I have some other quilts and things I am working on here at the lake.  Nice to have the time!

Run this morning 2.2 miles, 30 min…really slow…still recovering!

Have a great week and weekend.  See you next week!

Grandma, Cindy

    Beautiful stuff, girl! Beautiful!
We ended up being at a lake cabin for a week without all of our family, too. It was tough and lonely, but we made it work, too. Enjoy the solitude!

Take a rest! You deserve it. Gorgeous family and quilting Cindy. My mom is a quilter, much patience needed for that. And I hear you with all the computer stuff too…whoooowe! not my bag.
